My work at Waldoch exposed me to marketing, social media, accountant duties, general office assistant duties, vehicle layout/quotations, ebay sales, and much more. While with Empirehouse, I assisted in a complete redesign of their current website with emphasis on the content creation and data loading. I created marketing solutions such as the complete graphics package (from photography to layout and design) of the company's rolling billboard semi trailer. Design and creation of company party invites, tradeshow banners, website updates, company newsletter, and many more opportunities were mine to build upon to help the company expand their marketing endeavors. Through my work with Empirehouse, I gained a multitude of knowledge about marketing, person to person communication, and networking through working trade show booths as well as daily sales calls with company presidents, vice presidents, project managers, architects and estimators with metro area general contractors and architects.
Previous to my time with Empirehouse, I worked as the Administrative Assistant to the General Manager of United Taconite, a member of the parent company Cleveland Cliffs. Working for this company allowed me to gain knowledge and experience in areas such as event planning, advertising, designing, customer service, and many other day to day tasks. As the administrative assistant to the GM, I initiated a change in and then took the lead of the 500+ employee company safety program, created the company’s monthly newsletter and yearly calendar, created flyers and other advertising postings, took charge of the infocaster system (entering, designing, and maintaining content), fulfilled administrative duties, worked on filming and editing training videos, worked as site administrator of the company’s corporate training program, and planned meetings and lunches for visiting groups were all among my standard work day.
